Hack #3: Replit · Replit

MyVoice is an AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) app that gives people who can't speak a voice that actually sounds like them — not a robot. Every existing AAC app assigns users a generic text-to-speech voice from a library. MyVoice uses the ElevenLabs Voice Design API to generate a completely unique voice from scratch based on who the user is — their gender, age, accent, and personality. Built and deployed entirely on Replit using Replit Agent, the app guides users through a 4-step onboarding, generates 3 voice previews in real time, and saves their chosen voice permanently via the ElevenLabs TTS API. The result is a fully functional web app anyone can use at myvoice-app.replit.app. The insight that makes this different: the people who need AAC apps most — adults who lost their voice to ALS, stroke, or cancer — are intelligent, expressive people being handed a tool that sounds like a 1990s GPS. Voice Design makes it possible, for the first time, to give someone a voice that feels like theirs. That moment — hearing yourself speak in a voice you chose — is what this app is built around.
