**ElevenLabs Y2K Edition** is a nostalgic redesign of ElevenLabs.io that reimagines cutting-edge AI voice technology through the lens of late 90s/early 2000s web design. Built for the ElevenHack Hackathon, it features an authentic Windows 98 interface with neon colors, pixel fonts, and CRT scanline effects, while delivering real functionality via OpenRouter for text generation and ElevenLabs API for text-to-speech conversion. The centerpiece is an interactive "VOICE_LAB.exe" demo where users type a prompt, receive AI-generated responses, and instantly hear them played through a retro WinAmp-style audio player. Beyond the visual experience, the project includes a voice-guided tour (TOUR.exe), keyboard sound effects, and a retro loading screen—all while maintaining full accessibility support with skip links, focus states, and reduced-motion preferences. It's a playful demonstration that combines nostalgic design with modern AI capabilities, proving that the future sounded better from 1999.
