The inspiration for Thingbot came from my friend, a Maintenance Supervisor at a busy dairy factory. I saw him constantly calling the control room for telemetry updates and emergency statuses, which slowed down responses and created operational bottlenecks. To solve this, we built Thingbot — an intelligent webhook server that connects ThingsBoard IoT data with ElevenLabs Conversational AI through Twilio. Supervisors can simply call a number and talk directly to their factory using natural voice commands to get real-time machine stats, receive emergency alerts, reset alarms, or even stop machines. Built with Cursor & ElevenLabs. Future Vision: Expanding Thingbot with Radio Communication (LMR/DMR) support for extreme, low-network environments like offshore oil rigs, where safety and control should always be accessible through voice.
